Why we carry this product

There are two kinds of mold kits out there. One's a little agar dish you leave on the counter and read yourself — which mostly just proves mold exists, because it always does. This is the other kind: an actual accredited lab looks at your actual sample and tells you what's growing. How to use it?

Simple as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Swab. Pick up to three surfaces you're worried about and collect a sample from each, following the enclosed instructions.
  2. Mail. Fill out the submission form and send your samples to the lab.
  3. Results. SEEML's AIHA-accredited lab emails you a confidential report — often the same day they receive it. Check your spam folder, since lab emails sometimes land there.

Surface only — here's what that means

This kit tests surfaces, not air. That's the right tool when you can already see or smell something and want to know what it is. If you're chasing a musty smell with no visible source, or you want to compare indoor vs. outdoor spore counts, that's an air test — a different method. One kit covers three surface samples, so you don't need to buy several. Need more than three? You can add samples for an extra fee.

What will the report tell me?

The lab identifies the mold present in each sample and gives you a confidential written report. The free consultation helps you make sense of it — whether what you've got is a wipe-it-down situation or a call-a-pro situation. It's information to act on, not a diagnosis of your health.
